Subject: ID Family

Hello All:

I wanted to let everyone know that I will be sending a
series of e-mails that have been sent out over the last
couple of days regarding the ID Job family. I am adding
some individuals in the cc section of our e-mail lists so
if you have any comments it would be appreciated if you
replied to everyone on this e-mail.

After reading the e-mails I am about to send I would like
to have some more thought and communication put into the
following topics. We have received some input on some of
these subjects previously, but we would appreciate hearing
from more of you:

1) Addition of some language in the job family concept
that not only distinguishes it from media or information
systems families, but from faculty as well. It would also
be helpful to add some language in levels 3 and 4 that
distinguishes them specifically from faculty members. This
could also be included in the Job Family concept area -
how this family is distinguished from Faculty jobs.

2) Are there 4 levels in this job family? If so who would
fall into the level 1 category and what language can we
add to the level to better describe the work?

3) Whether or not the education or experience required for
each level is appropriate? Are we willing to exclude
potential employees for given positions if they do not
have the specific degree requirement as written?

I would like to get this input from the group by January
20th so we can schedule a meeting for next month.

As always thanks for your time and effort on this project.

James
