students at distance doc.
Services should be available to all students. I would imagine if
we asked service providers, they would tell us they are already service student
enrolled in distance education classes. We have never had complaints
about not receiving services - but I've never specifically asked DE students
about the services they receive. We may want to do that.

Hi Karen,
Per the ETT audio on Tuesday I have shared with the chief student
affairs officer at each MAU the document on supporting students in
distance ed.
Some specific issues were raised that I am passing to you for comment
&/or review:
--Tutoring - who would actually provide this? Is the expectation this
service be available for every class? At a fee? On-line or in person?
(Linda Lazzell mentioned a service via the library [UAA?] in which
students receive help with their homework on-line...perhaps this can be
adapted for the tutoring needs?)
--Students with special needs or the use of adaptive technology? Are
their plans to serve students with audible, sight or physical needs?
I am cc'g the Dean's in the event they have additional comments.
Thanks,
Saich
